AVOID THE TRAP OF RELIGION
"What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people's faces. You won't go in yourselves, and you don't let others enter either. "What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are!"
(Matt 23:13-15) NLT
Religion is a trap for most people. It shuts the door of the kingdom in people’s face. It has the form of godliness but denying the power thereof. Millions of people are practicing religion and they taught they are serving the living God. Religious people don’t really have a deep relationship with God. They relate with God in their own way- they serve Him the way they want to, not the way He want them to serve Him. Jude described these false teachers this way:

Religion is a trap for most people. It shuts the door of the kingdom in people’s face. It has the form of godliness but denying the power thereof. Millions of people are practicing religion and they taught they are serving the living God. Religious people don’t really have a deep relationship with God. They relate with God in their own way- they serve Him the way they want to, not the way He want them to serve Him. Jude described these false teachers this way:
“…they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you. They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots. 13 They are like wild waves of the sea, churning up the foam of their shameful deeds. They are like wandering stars, doomed forever to blackest darkness.” (Jude 12-13) NLT
People are trapped in churches today. There are various churches that are established for the purpose of sustaining the founders. Some sincerely thought they are serving God but they are serving a God that they do not really know. Their knowledge of God is wrong and absurd. Their flocks are ignorantly misled. These pastors have opportunity to lead millions in the right part but they are blind leaders of the blind; both they and their followers will perish alike.
Churches have the greatest opportunity to feed the flock of God. They have the best chance to influence their members towards spiritual growth and knowing the person of Jesus. Today most people believe that once they attend certain church their spiritual hunger will be met. Unfortunately thousands of people are fed on the wrong diet. And until we feed of the truth of the gospel we are never going to mature into the full stature of the son of God.
Belonging to a denomination is not equal to salvation; unfortunately most of the members of this denomination never give the true gospel a chance in their life, having been fooled by the self made doctrines of their denomination. They don’t read books or listen to CDs by other ministry gifts to the body of Christ. They are imprisoned by the four walls of their denomination and blinded from the truth of the Gospel.
The light of the glorious Gospel is not shinning upon their hearts. The devil is not afraid of religion; in fact it is the tool through which he blinds people. They are trapped in churches and denominations. These people are wasting away, as the scripture says,” my people perish for lack of Knowledge”. You need to break free from this trap and accept the gospel of grace. You need to know God for yourself! Religion is a trap, only the truth sets free!
