"Regardless of where they’re from, Daura is also their home, and I hope that in the years to come they will look back to this time with fond memories," Buhari said. SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK
President Muhammadu Buhari has described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme as one of the best things to happen to Nigeria.
He stated this when corps members posted to Daura, his hometown, visited him on Tuesday.
Buhari, who went to his hometown in Katsina for the Sallah celebration, was excited to receive the them, saying that regardless of whereveer they hailed from, Daura had become theri home.
A series of posts via his personal handle, @MBuhari, read: “One of the Sallah traditions I look forward to the most is the visit by Youth Corpers posted to Daura. I think the NYSC is one of the best things that has happened to Nigeria, because of the opportunity it gives young Nigerians to see and know different parts of the country.”
Noting that most of the corps members in Daura are from the Southern part of the country, Buhari said he is convinced that their service to the country “will make a positive impact on Nigeria".
The President assured them of experiencing great hospitality, stating that "Regardless of where they’re from, Daura is also their home, and I hope that in the years to come they will look back to this time with fond memories".
This corps members visitation will once again bring to fore the allegation against Buhari's Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who was said to forge NYSC exemption letter.
It has been 45 days since the case was publicized in the media and surprisingly, Buhari is yet to comment or act on the forgery scandal.
