South East has the potential to turn Nigeria into World power, if properly harnessed. by UZZYKAY.

The five South Eastern states has the capacity to turn Nigeria to a world power if fully harnessed. The ingenuity of the Easterners and business acumen sets them apart in one instant. Here is a list of the neglected potentials that can have an immediate return on investment:

1.      NNEWI AUTO HUB: Nnewi in Anambra State can comfortably be our own Detroit. By the shared doggedness of Ndi Anambra, the city has been transformed to an Auto hub with the likes of Innoson,  Gabros and a host of Auto Lubricant companies. An articulated policy statement on our National Automotive Drive will see influx of Foreign Direct Investment in that hub, thereby making Nigeria an auto hub in Africa.

2.      AUDIO-VISUAL CENTERS IN UPPER IWEKA(ONITSHA) AND POUNDS ROAD (ABA): If you are familiar with Video cassettes and CDs in Nollywood advertisements, you must have heard Upper Iweka and Pounds Road. These places have the potential to become a standard Hollywood Studio, housing the major studio work involved in the process of producing films in this country. With Nollywood being our selling point and a National Pride, right from the days of Living in Bondage, a studio hub and an investment in to this area will be an instant hit.

3.      Onitsha Main Market and Ariaria Main Market Aba: With a combined daily inflow of 200 billion Naira, the Dubai Mall System developed to modernize the open market will make South East a hub in Africa.

4.      Tourism: Nike Lake. Oguta Lake, Azumiri Blue River and a host of other tourist attractions will certainly make South East a place to visit. Dubai today thrives majorly on Tourism; we have potentials that can be replicated and have a better result.

5.      Akwaete and Aba Sewing Centers: Aba can overtake Nepal, Bangladesh and some other Asian Minors in the Manufacture/Clothing and Textile. Everything and anything that can be sown with machine is done in Aba. It can be a destination for outsourcing of bulk sewing by organizations and designers.

This presents an investment opportunities for all and sundry. The state governments can do a lot to close the investment gaps in this region.
